Please note that TestSmith is no longer a supported product. You are welcome to download it and request a free ten-year license for unlimited use. Current customers still find much value in the product.

The source code for TestSmith is available for purchase on an as-is basis, with a non-expiring, non-exclusive license. Contact us for more information and price.

Evaluation License Term

TestSmith is provided with a free 90-day evaluation license, valid from the date the product is first installed. Subsequent upgrades will not renew the evaluation license period. Click here for information on purchasing a full license.

Installation

Open the downloaded testsmith140.exe file.

Select the top-level directory to install to; by default this is C:\.

Click the "Unzip" button to extract the TestSmith files.

IMPORTANT NOTICE

If you have a previously installed version of TestSmith in the same directory you are installing to you should:
  1. Back up (copy/rename) any previously downloaded files that you wish to retain.
  2. Choose the "Overwrite files without prompting" option in the installer.


The installer will create (or use) the following directories, assuming you extracted to C:\

     contains testsmith.exe, playsmith.exe, qfts01.dll, tsapi.dll and Windows help files
C:\QualityForge\TestSmith\Docs
     contains product documents, including the User Guide
C:\QualityForge\TestSmith\Docs\userguide
     contains the User Guide html documents
C:\QualityForge\TestSmith\Data
     default directory for *.csv (data) files
     (contains example data files)
C:\QualityForge\TestSmith\Scripts
     default directory for *.smith scripts
     (contains example scripts)
C:\QualityForge\TestSmith\Reports
     default directory for *.tsrep files and other reports
C:\QualityForge\TestSmith\Maps
     default directory for *.tsgui and *.tsdom map files
C:\QualityForge\TestSmith\System
     contains the TestSmith license (and other system-related files)
C:\QualityForge\TestSmith\RubySmith
     contains all the sub-directories and files for the TestSmith Ruby API  [details]
C:\QualityForge\TestSmith\TSJAPI
     contains all the sub-directories and files for the TestSmith Java API  [details]
C:\QualityForge\TestSmith\TSCAPI
     contains all the sub-directories and files for the TestSmith C++ API  [details]

Once the installation is complete, open the C:\QualityForge\TestSmith folder and double-click the
TestSmith.exe icon to run the program.
