"TestSmith met almost all our automated testing requirements, and where it didn't
the support from Quality Forge was second to none in coming up with a fix or workaround."

"We conducted an extensive search for a functional and regression test automation
tool which we could use to test our streaming media management web application.
Our application uses a lot of _javascript so we needed a tool which could manipulate
both HTML and Windows controls. We were also looking for a tool which provided a
Java API, offered a recorder feature, and was relatively inexpensive.
TestSmith was the only tool we found which met all of our search criteria.
We use the TestSmith Java API
(TSJAPI)
to incorporate our functional and regression test cases into a proprietary Java
test harness which performs many functions from builds to unit testing to reporting.
Our application is also very database-intensive and we use Java throughout
our functional test cases to make JDBC calls to the database during testing.
In this way,
TSJAPI
has allowed us to combine the power of our Java test harness with the out-of-the-box GUI
automation which TestSmith provides."

"We found TestSmith looking for a GUI-testing tool to include in our project.
We were looking for a tool that recognized Windows GUI-Elements and had a record option.
We wanted to use the feature of accessing GUI objects and include it in our program code,
instead of using it inside the tool.
We looked at other products, too.
Most of them were more expensive and used their own script languages and GUI Object Maps.
If they had an API, it only worked to start a whole test script, but could not be used
for single GUI Object commands.
With TestSmith, that was not a problem and so it was exactly the product that we were
looking for.
The C++ wrapper
that comes with TestSmith made it really easy to integrate
the library into our project."

"...TestSmith's interface with Java has allowed us to extend on the TestSmith language,
adapting it for customized use to take advantage of all Java has to offer.
It saves us countless hours of manual testing by allowing us to write the test once
and run it as often as needed.
The ability to read information from the pages has allowed us to test both static
material and fully dynamic pages. Through the use of Java
with TestSmith we can change the data in our tests easily at any time and use the
same scripts to test a different variation of the same part of any one of our web sites.
TestSmith has made it easy to find problems sooner allowing bugs to be fixed in a
more timely fashion."
